Good Music

There is nothing better than a good concert. Matt and I saw an all time favorite last night, SunnyDay Real Estate. What a perfect way to bring back 15 years of memories than through hearing this band's old songs!

Below are two pictures of me on the way to the show. The venue was across the street from Fenway Park.

As you can see, I'm finding that the only way to deal with the awkward shape I now have at 6 months pregnant is to wear tons of accessories!

The BIG little post!!!

We've been out of pocket for several weeks now so I have many updates yet to post. ...Spain, France, Atlanta, and a very special visit from a good Seattle friend!

Matt has finished his second week of school and we are back into the swing of things, for the most part! We are sharing our computer again which makes blog catch up challenging, but for now I have a few minutes for the much awaited "BIG little post!"

Yes, we have big news!!! If we haven't had a chance to tell you personally, Matt and I are very excited to share with everyone that we are having our first baby!!!

Pregnancy has been moving along smoothly as I am already 5+ months. We're due mid January and already know the gender. If you haven't had a chance to make a guess on what we're having, now is your opportunity. (you can make your prediction in a comment.) I'll let you all know on my next post if we're having a boy or a girl.

Georgia Visitors!

Last weekend we got to catch up and visit with an old friend from Georgia! Kara and her little girl stayed with us and we got to do a little exploring around town.



Matt was just a little excited to see a Gwinnett County Georgia license plate.


Did I mention that Kara is an awesome photographer? I snagged a few of her pics because they really show how beautiful Boston is. You can also clearly tell the difference between Kara's professional pictures and the crappy pictures I typically post on my blog!

Boston Harbor Cruise

Our awesome friend Ginny hooked us and a bunch of friends up with a free Harbor Cruise out of Boston to Spectacle Island. It was great to get a view of Boston from afar and always fun to play on a beach with friends!

Brimfield, MA Antique Fair

Last weekend Matt and I went to the Brimfield Antique Show in the quaint town of Brimfield, MA.
Matt and I were in antique/junk heaven and we loved every minute of it!

"The Brimfield Antiques Show began in the 1950's and has become the largest and best-known outdoor antiques show in the country. Running along Rt. 20 for a distance of perhaps a half-mile and perhaps 500' or more, back on each side of the highway, the Brimfield Show is a huge, vast undertaking, filled with thousands of dealers dealers over the course of the week, selling everything from the finest antiques to 'yard junk', requiring a day or two to see everything there is to see."

If we only had extra space and extra spending money, we would have left with a car packed full of unique finds.

What a Mass-hole!

We thought it was bad when someone tried to steal our car last fall,
damaging the side of our car leaving evidence of having used a crowbar.
We now use "The Club" every night. We're sooo cool!

We thought that all the little dings, bumper bumps, and scratched paint were rude
but that's just the life of street parking.

BUT THEN............

First thing Friday morning Matt and I were walking down the steet to the car
as I was about to drive him to his internship.

Jana: "Haha, check out that car! That sucks. Wait a minute, that's not our car is it?"
"Noooo, don't tell me that's our car. That's not our car, is it?!?!"

Matt: "Umm, that's our car."

Jana: "Noooo! Oh my gosh, that's our car!!!"

 

 

No note was left on the car.

What a jerk.

Before moving to Massachuttetts we heard about Mass-holes,
but now we truely understand this nickname!
We're stuck with a hood that won't open or shut and a $2000+ estimate.

Poor little Civ. Poor us. Thanks a lot whoever you are!

4th of July: Boston SPECTACULAR!

Matt's brother and wife, Nick & Ashlea, came out for a visit surrounding the fourth of July weekend. We had a great time touring around Boston and celebrating Independence Day.

In addition to enjoying great company, here is a short summary of what we did over the extended weekend:

• Kelly's Roast Beef: The most incredible roast beef sandwich you'll ever eat! (Pretty good clam chowder for a cold night too) We went to their flagship location in Revere, MA right on the beach. It was too bad that it was cold and cloudy but it was still a beautiful location.
• Richardson's Ice Cream: Dairy farm fresh ice cream. No really, it's so fresh that you can smell the dairy cows in the surrounding area! More flavors that you could ever dream up and even when ordering the smallest size you get more icecream than you can actually consume in one sitting. I can't wait for more Richardson's ice cream!
• Lexington & Concord: The Minute Man National Historical Park and Museum, musket shooting reinactment, the old North Bridge, and late lunch in the old town.
• An amazing Italian dinner in the North End.
• Fireworks on the Charles River: Boston Pops, Neil Diamond, Craig Ferguson, local flavor, and amazing fireworks with an impressive amount of ash and other firework debris!
• Matt and my first Red Sox game at Fenway Park! Sox vs. Mariners...a perfect game for us!
• Dinner at Durgin Park next to Faneuil Hall: Classic Boston grub! Matt LOVED this place.

(This last picture is Matt holding the 12" long wick that was still burning. It landed on our bag!)

I'm missing so many other details but we obivously had a great time with Nick and Ashlea!
